Brian Frisselle Takes Career Best NASCAR Result

(Radford, VA) 16 July 07 – Brian Frisselle scored the best result of his young NASCAR career on Saturday night with a strong run to third with the CDOC Chevy Monte Carlo in the 94.9 Star Country/Promedia/Americar 150 at Motor Mile Speedway. The race was won by defending NASCAR Whelen All-American Series champion Philip Morris.

Brian, who is earning his rookie oval racing stripes this season along with brother and teammate Burt, qualified sixth for the Saturday night event on his way to taking third at the finish.

The "podium" result came at the end of a hectic two days of racing for Brian, who also raced on Friday night at Iowa Speedway in the Exchange Traded Gold Lexus-Riley in the Daytona Prototype race that featured NASCAR regular Mark Martin.

"I'm pretty excited about this result," said Brian. "My brother and I have been doing everything we can to learn as much as possible as fast as we can. We've been working in the shop, and every day we learn something new about what it takes to be good at this kind of racing-from trusting our spotters to learning how to avoid problems on the restarts so we don't end up having to fix our own bodywork! So a night like tonight is pretty satisfying and hopefully we can keep this up."

The strong finish at the Motor Mile was even more welcome after the Iowa race ended early for Brian when a steering component failed. The young brothers, who have posted strong performances this season with Stacy Compton's Turn One Racing team despite being completely new to the oval side of the sport, were also encouraged by this weekend's ARCA victory by Michael McDowell, against whom Brian raced in Formula Mazda competition before competing against in Rolex Sports Car Series racing.

The young racing brothers have a busy summer full of racing planned, but are relishing every lap of it even when it doesn't go their way, as Burt discovered on Saturday night after qualifying a strong fourth, but being forced to accept a twentieth place result after problems during the race.

"I'm happy for Brian tonight, but after qualifying fourth, I was hoping to be right there at the front with him. But with how much I got crashed into, it just didn't work out that way tonight," said Burt.

Burt will take his turn in the Daytona Prototype this weekend at Barber Motorsports Park in Birmingham, Alabama before the two brothers get the chance to race wheel to wheel once again at Motor Mile Speedway in the Twin 75's on July 28th.
