Barker Takes Late Model Stock Car Win |

Adam Barker continues to rack up the wins here at South Boston Speedway.
Barker, from Hurt, Va., won the 110-lap race for the Barkhouser Late Model Stock Car Division to rack up his sixth win in a row and his sixth win in seven races here this season.
The South Boston Speedway points leader started on the pole and led all the way in the race that had to be extended to 116 laps in order to have a green-white-checker finish following the last of the race’s five caution flags.
Barker was leading when the race’s fourth caution period slowed the action on lap 104 and had second-place driver C.E. Falk of Virginia Beach, Va., Wayne Ramsey of Amherst, Va., David Triplett Jr. of Timberlake, N.C. and Owen Miller of Emporia, Va. when the race was restarted on lap 108.
Falk made a run at Barker on the restart and pulled alongside of Barker as they raced through the fourth turn on the final circuit. Unfortunately, Falk spun coming off of the fourth turn, prompting NASCAR officials to throw the yellow caution flag.
On the final restart, Barker had Ramsey right behind him but was able to get a good jump on the start and hold off Ramsey by about three car lengths or .634 second at the finish.
South Boston, Va. driver Stacy Puryear started 12th but raced his way to a third-place finish behind Barker and Ramsey.
Triplett finished fourth and Miller rounded out the top five finishers.
Jonathan Bailey of Keysville, Va., Rodney Cook of Reidsville, N.C., Falk, Eddie Johnson of Midlothian, Va. and Richard Storm of Partlow, Va. rounded out the top ten finishers.
Barker averaged 68.493 mph in the race that took 40 minutes and 47 seconds to complete.
